New Features

02/05/2013

Hi All,

Just letting you know about some nice new features that have just been introduced into myPOS.

For Cafe's and Restaurants:-

You can now access the tables first and double clicking on an ordered line will allow you to add another or if you select the "Add Items Box" you can ring up any item and pressing 'Total' puts them on the table.

Table screen will close after 10 seconds of inactivity to avoid being left unattended.

PLU with zero price, a printer link and the word “NAME” in it. Will now prompt to change the name of the “PLU” or customer for easy customer name entry. Best to use with a non stock item setting.

Also add the polling of tables for restaurants with standlone mode enabled so that when it goes off line we still know what was on the table on the server.

Table Layouts - Added backgrounds, new resizing, and new seat buttons.

Also added a right click/mouse click hold to tables that give a list of the items on the table, a shortcut to the call aways and also a shortcut to the print bill.

Also added a the ability to change the name of the table until it has been finalised. Good for “tabs”,  like “Bills Party” or similar.

Also added if you add “Tab #” or “Table #” (eg. Tab 1, Table 1, Tab 33, Table 33) it will go straight to the table details. It actually doesn’t really need the restaurant option turned on, so if you have a few tabs you could potentially just add 3 buttons to one of the keytop tabs. So it will work as normal. Ring up the items and add it to the table. Or go to the tab and pay the bill.

We have also added if an unpriced PLU (open food item or similar) with a printer link is sold and assigned a price, it will ask to change the description of the PLU for the sale only. It will use the changed description for printing bills etc.

Relevant for all businesses:-

We added a backup server option as part of the new stand alone box that is shown. It is currently labelled for BETA so please be aware of that if you choose to use it. Basically it requires all slaves have been updated for standalone etc (using SLAVES program to update them). Then if the server goes down it gives you the opportunity to select the till to either “Set as backup server” or “Search for backup server”. The two options are self explanatory and will need to be taken off standalone to come back online.

We have added the printing, PDF and emailing prompt when finalising “Stock Receipts” and finalising “Orders” (not creating orders). To show to the manager that the invoices were entered correctly.

Also added a the ability to change the name of the table until it has been finalised. Good for “tabs”,  like “Bills Party” or similar.

We have added a way to view the log of “clocking on” and “clocking off” from  the operator screen. At the same time we changed the log slightly for more information.

We have added to keytops - if you add a caption to a blank keytop “Customer” or “CUSTOMER” then it will show as “Select Customer” which after you click on it, asks for the customer. Useful for accessing customers without cards, but have a special price level.

There is a new PLU type added called “clothing”. Once this is activated a new selection drop down menu is displayed and a new SOH grid is displayed. The new selection box is the size type. Currently there is only the small/medium/large type added but there is availability to add more in the future as they come along (like shoe sizes, dress sizes etc). Setting a PLU as type clothing makes the following changes:

1)      Enables the user to add a barcode to a relevant size

2)      When selling an item manually it will request you select the size.

3)      Enables stock receipting of all sizes (when selecting a clothing item it will add all the sizes to the grid)

4)      Enables ordering of all sizes (like above)

5)      Enables stocktaking of all sizes (like above)

More functionality may be added as we find out more about this type of selling. But is enough to get started and possibly sell in this are.

We have started adding new graphs to the system:-

We have replaced the timezone, operator, department view and plu view graphs.

Will be adding more to report generator.

The downside is it requires adobe flash to be installed. However it wont error if it is not.

We have added webpage support for the mymenuboard. So it can now link to a URL of a page or image, so that the images dont need to be stored locally.

Voucher printing and control system is now available. You need a scanner to make it work best. Just create a PLU with Voucher as the name and an 'End-of-sale' called Voucher.

Please call support if you need help on any of these features.

Please make sure you download the latest myPOS Software after the 1st Monday of each month.

Thank you for your support and input. This is how we keep you ahead of the rest!

Regards,

Glen Parker
